RE: cut fule use by 50%

Why would the Automaker's include something like this costing them $300 - $5000 depending on which system would be installed when they wouldn't put in a $5 fix to keep Ford Pinto gas tanks from blowing up and killing people? Ever look at how many TSB's are listed for GM, Dodge and Ford vehicles? Look at the same data for say a Hyundai or Kia (now being built in America in the South). Why can't they engineer out those problems, why do they exist in the first place on most models? The Big 3 (that aren't so big anymore except in new overseas sales) never raise mileage unless they are forced to by new CAFE Standards. Never used to be a conspiracy kook, but starting to become one. Automaker's and Big Oil having a working relationship, let's just say, an understanding behind the scenes to cooperate together aiming at maximizing profits for both. Nothing else can explain it when there is other working technology that has been around for years.

RE: hydrogen generators: diesel

Don't blow off what you haven't tried for yourself. I'm not selling them (yet), but three of us locally that I know of, have been investigating this for several months and the other two guys just built their own HHO Injection Unit from an online book provided by one of those outfits out of Calif. PVC version. First test run of 75 miles yesterday in a late model, still Under Warranty Dodge Caravan. Dealer told them not a problem with Warranty. Normal Gas Mileage he was getting 20.2 mpg before. With new HHO Unit installed in vehicle on the 75 mile test run he got 30.75 mpg. It's not that complicated to understand how this occurs. Hydrogen is just another fuel, yet a much more powerful fuel. Basically you end up with an HHO/Gas Hybrid, (Batteries Not Included). NASA has been using Hydrogen for decades. I haven't heard of any spacecraft getting into orbit using gas or diesel. The second unit is being built right now and will be installed in a Mazda Mini-Van shortly. I will post the results after I get more numbers. I am ordering a 30Liter/hr HHO unit next week for my work car, 96 Olds Ciera. I currently get 23 local and 31 on the road I expect to see much better than that. I wonder who is putting out all the Negative Info while they continue to Gouge us at the pumps?? Why do you so readily believe the Negative side off the Internet, but won't "trust" the Positive side when you have no actual experience with it hands on? I also see the same Slamming on here about CIT Cold Air Intakes. I installed one and a Helical Throttle Body Spacer and my mileage has gone up 2mpg both empty and towing. Run the numbers for 12,000mi per year at a 2 mpg increase at $4/gal. I got my money back for the CIT and TB plus over $200 left over. That means by next year the Gear Change is paid for too. If I inject HHO in the Durango at another $675 outlay and boost MPG even just another 2mpg I am covered. Results I've seen from a person I have known for years locally (not Off the Internet) tell me it's for real and worth the effort for the expense. I don't know about Semi Tractor mileage with them, but I do know about one Dodge Caravan already with more test beds to follow soon. I'll post back what our three vehicles are doing after we get the other two going. Will probably have the second Van running in a week or so and my Olds by the end of the month, sooner I hope. After I see the mileage results for that I want to try the larger unit in the Durango. What happened to Experimenting, Mods and the Sense of Adventure out there?? :@ At $272 for my Olds kit, (can build on your own with parts totaling around $110), it's a Low Risk investment to try if I gain 8-10mpg like my friend in his Mini-Van. It's also very fun messing with it! I suppose the Wright Brothers were "Snake Oil" in their day??

RE: Is clunking sound normal with Equalizer Hitch

I have found that most of my Clunking was coming from the slop in the Hitch Receiver and the Equal-i-zer Shank. I put a Roadmaster Quiet Hitch on it and the Clunking stopped. However, I recently bent and broke off the bolt on the Quiet hitch plate so now am back to clunking. Found out I caused it by not First loosing the Locking Bolt before Un-Hitching. Bent the bracket at the bottom and eventually the bolt. The Popping and Creaking is normal with an Equal-i-zer. I'm even using the Bracket Jackets (actually doing Field Testing of new materials for Progress Mfg.). Still makes the usual noises however they are reduced if I don't miss any lube points on the Head.

RE: Mohican/Loudonville area Ohio

We went and checked out 3Smiths again. Sites were way more in direct sunlight then we realized along the creek in the front. Total Southside exposure, would be hot. On back farther it is shadier if you can get a site. I would try the Mohican SP Non-Reservables if you don't need Full Hookups. Electric Only there. They were still only half full over the weekend.

RE: Camp Club USA

We have had it since last Spring. We don't use it around here for weekenders, but for the big Michigan trips. Using at 3 different campgrounds up there this year. About half the trip is 50% off. Most places exclude Fri and Sat and definitely holidays. Many have a 2 Day Max Limit for the Discount. Likes others have said check the Individual Websites from the CampClub links. If you stay two nights at most of these you have recovered your original cost.

RE: Mohican/Loudonville area Ohio

We are here in the SP now. Looked like the last weekend we could get a FH sight until August! Here is one of the nicest one's we scouted last season on Wally Road. 3Smiths Water and Electric only with Honey Wagon. When we stopped last year the owner was really a nice guy and he was installing Wi-Fi that day and building the play-area and doing the pool work. Looks like they added more over the last year. Grass sites, but many right on the creek, watch the tubers float by. They were doing alot of campground upgrades last season, pool area and new sand play area. Thinking about running over there later today to see what they have done as a backup plan in case we can't wait for the SP to open up for another visit. If we do will report back here. Yes, when we came in yesterday (Saturday) around 1 pm, only half the Non-Reservables were taken which was a surprise, since the rest of the park is packed this weekend! PopUp and Tent City in the middle sections!

RE: Black Streaks

I started using AWESOME vs the Camco Black Streak Cleaner at WM. Last weekend I sprayed it straight on the Rain Gutters and after 10 minutes blasted them out with a hose and spray handle. Clean as new! Looked like freshly painted aluminum! Then I scrubbed the wrap-over edge of the Rubber Roof clean using a toothbrush. What a difference! The one side I did is absolutely white! Still have to do the opposite edge. Getting the black mold out of the gutters will keep it from overflowing the sides during rains and running down and streaking. We also now have the front of the TT elevated enough to make the water run off the back gutter spouts instead of pooling in the gutters. This is helping alot. Last night I bought a Brute (Briggs&Stratton) 2500 PSI Pressure Washer. Got some Car Wash & Wax for use in Pressure Washers. Added just a touch of AWESOME into the Soap Tank, then half a bottle of the Wash&Wax into the gallon tank. Soaped the sides all down with low power mode, let it stand a few minutes, used the RV Brush on a pole and quickly went over it. Prettiest she ever looked, better than when we took delivery a year ago! Did all that in an hour. Was taking me about 3 hours without the PW. (Caution use on High Fan settings, not Blaster!) :E

RE: Should I Drain My Hot Water Tank Between Trips?

We go every 4-6 wks so I drain the HW Tank when I get back and before we go I flush it. On well water and left it in for a month last year and it did smell bad.

RE: Surge protector

I got the 34730 Portable one. Read too many horror stories on here about fried equipment. Now I found I need to pickup a Dogbone to extend down and out of the Power Post that I run into at the SP. Picking that up at WalMart. Found the best prices for Surge Guard here: Surge Guard

RE: Jellyfish Stings

I know last summer they were stocking the lifeguard chairs with White Vinegar at New Symrna Beach in Fla. Guy from work got nailed multiple times, also had to go get Tetanus shot at ER due to water borne bacteria. Not sure if White Vinegar works on Texas Jellyfish, maybe only works on Fla. Jellyfish :@

Bear Paw Pizza on the Main drag in Glen Arbor. Small but good. Try the Honey Paws and Bear Bones! Also in Traverse City, FlapJacks for breakfast, Culver's for lunch and Apache Trout Grill for lunch or dinner.

RE: equalizer help

There was a thread on here last week about bent pins. Someone said there was a batch of L Brackets that were punched wrong. 2" out from back side of bracket instead of 1.5". Too much slop, bends the pins. Check yours and call Progress if they are punched wrong.

Getting rid of Fabric Odors?

Ok, I have tried everything I know, Ammonia treatments and lots of Febreeze after that. After a year we still have formaldehyde odor from the Upholstery of the Sofa Bed and the Dinette seats. It burns my eyes, nose a little, if I sit on the sofa or especially lie down on it. DD too. Have Febreezed it over and over. Anyone have any tricks for something applied directly to that fabric to deal with eliminating it to a lower level where it won't bother us anymore? It is better than it was when we got it, but with our allergy sensitivities, it still bothers us, especially when closed up a little more in rainy weather or cooler nights. Of course the warmer it is, the more it gasses off inside even with the windows open. Getting ready to go again and going to be in mid 70's to 80's so will be more noticeable. Thanks in advance for any tips.
